Zupadyke
A floodable landscape for the immigrants of the Veddel in Hamburg, Germany to grow + sell vegetables on a former customs interchange.
The Veddel lies at a critical juncture between the encroaching development from Hamburg + port and former agricultural lands + open spaces. At this juncture, Zupadyke responds to Hamburg’s ‘room for the river’, introducing an enlarged dyke partially covering the former customs buildings engaging the tidal flows of the river Elbe.
