The steel cylindrical base holds a 150 gallon plastic tank in which submerged pump spins freely. A second pump, housed in the same plastic as the first, causes the upper tank to dip as it turns. The dipping and turning of the upper tank, as well as the occasional eclipsing of the sole light source makes reference to isolation and segmentation.
